I want to share it with you in hopes that it will bless you too.
My Mama's Torah
The sweet soft side of life she has shown,
A love to learn of all that's known,
Or not known but yet to see,
The person I will eventually be...
This is my Mama’s Torah
To love, to laugh, the joys of life,
To trust in God in times of strife,
A respect for the laws I'll soon enough know,
Until that time next to Mama I'll grow...
This is my Mama’s Torah
To be a good person, oh this I pray,
To do what is right each and every day,
Her teaching with passion to love one another,
Like the love I received from God and Mother...
This is my Mama’s Torah
The words Mama spoke were gentle, filled with love,
They keep me safe and speak to me with guidance from above,
Bind them on your heart, fasten them 'round your neck,
Listen close, hear those words when your life feels like a wreck...
This is my Mama’s Torah
When I've grown I'll spread my wings to start out on my own,
I'll look at my face in the mirror and know I'm not alone,
The very reflection I see of me is also mama too,
It comforts and reminds me, to my own God I must be true...
This is my Mama’s Torah
So, when my days are numbered I'll go with sweet serenity
But first I'll honor mama's teaching by bowing on one knee,
I'll ask my lord and master to hear one final prayer,
And thank him for my mother who taught me with such care,
Her torah brought me to this day and with my final breath,
I'll praise out loud, "The Lord my God," until my very death...
This was my Mama’s Torah.
