Shalom All: We have added a total of seven words, and changed two words, all of which we believe to be appositional phrases that enhance the meaning of the original text. Each paragraph that once said "Messianic Israel believes..." has been changed to a more specific, "The Messianic Israel Alliance believes..." In paragraph one, when we speak of the "Holy Scriptures," we added the words, "Genesis to Revelation." In paragraph four, when we speak of the "companions" of both Ephraim and Judah, we have in both cases changed the "and" to "plus." In paragraph five, when we speak of "Shabbat," we have added the words, "seventh day." "The Hope of Messianic Israel" was first written in 1995 by Angus and Batya Wootten and printed in their "Messianic Israel Herald" Newsletter to help clarify their beliefs. When the Messianic Israel Alliance was formed based on their previous ministry contacts, the document was adopted as being foundational to the beliefs of the Alliance, which is now being directed by the Shepherds: Scott Diffenderfer, Hale Harris, and John Conrad. In addition, the Alliance has an Advisory Council that has many members who advise the Shepherds. Collectively, we have all agreed to make the above changes, and to change the name of the document to "The Hope of the Messianic Israel Alliance." Signed, |
