At the recent leadership retreat the MIA hosted in Montana, we discussed the lifestyle, or halacha, of Messianic Israel. Our life changing faith in Messiah Y'shua ultimately results in lifestyle changes. Those gathered came to a consensus on a few basic principles realizing that it was time to establish some lifestyle expectations for the community of Messianic Israel. We often are asked, "How then are we to live as redeemed Israel?" In answer to that question we humbly offer the following lifestyle principles as a starting point for Messianic Israel. As we grow into the mighty nation He has called us to be, we look forward to the day when His people have "one way and one manner." Today, as we come into the family of Israel from many backgrounds, denominations, and cultures it is necessary to come together on some basic lifestyle patterns so that we can walk forward as one people. As equippers, we pray that these principles will be used throughout Messianic Israel as new people arrive at your homes and assemblies with honest questions about how they are to walk out their faith. May we all remember that crossing over is a process . Therefore, let us present these principles to others with the same grace that the Father showed us - allowing His Spirit and Word to convict. For those in leadership positions, please remember that your example speaks much clearer than your words. We offer these principles in love and with a great expectation of the Father's continuing work in our lives as the Ruach haKodesh writes His Torah on our hearts. Lifestyle Principles of Messianic IsraelWe present these precepts to help guide the redeemed who are crossing over and returning to their Israelite heritage. Through faith in Messiah Yeshua we honor Torah in our daily walk (John 14:15; Deu 4:1- 6; 11:8).
As instructed by the apostles we continually grow in grace and knowledge through devoting ourselves to Scriptural teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer, that we might grow in the grace of our Messiah (Acts 2:42; 2 Pet 3:17-18). |
