Well, it is now time for the New Moon. But this New Moon is special. It begins a New Year for the Children of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Father says,, “This month [Abib] shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you” (Exo 12:2). We are eagerly anticipating the New Moon of Abib on Thursday evening, April 3rd. It has a lag time of 92 minutes so take a few minutes and go out and enjoy (weather permitting) just one of the signs the Father has given His Children on how to know when to Celebrate His Feasts! For those who are new to spotting the New Moon, look in the Western sky just after sunset and you should see it as the sky begins to darken. Look just NW of the area in which the sun set and you should also be able to spot a very bright star near where the Moon appears. This months New Moon will begin yet again another "Cycle of Sanctification" in the People of Yahweh. As each of us eagerly await the beginning of a New Year, let us pause and reflect now on the past year and do a little "Spiritual Spring Cleaning." If we will allow it, the Father will do a little "dusting" in our lives! It always fascinates me to watch things from the past year really come to a "head" just prior to Pesach. Let us pay close attention to how the Father would re-direct our steps where needed. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock..." Now, depending on how you view the entire Passover scenario given in Scripture, there will be people celebrating Pesach anywhere from the 15th of April to the 17th of April. I'll leave that up to each individual to decide. (Perhaps there is too much debate over some of these issues?) Our prayer is that you celebrate with the true Passover Lamb close to your hearts! Now, to line up the events of this coming New Year, it all should begin on Thursday, April 3rd with the New Moon of Abib. Again, the "lag time" is 92 minutes so you have plenty of time to get out and look if you would like. When you spot the New Moon, sound your shofar and give thanks to our Lord for yet another month of life. We wish all of Israel a most blessed New Year. As we "let Jerusalem come to mind" let we who love Her "not forget to pray for her Shalom." Have a wonderful time sharing with your families the story of our history as the people of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! He has DELIVERED! In His Shalom, PS - Batya tells me there is still time to order copies of her new and liberating Passover book. Read it and enjoy! |
