The Messianic Israel Alliance is planning a tour to Israel in March. On this tour will have a number of Doors of Effective Service open to us to bless our brethren in the House of Judah.

The tour guide is Polly Grimes of “Through the Book Tours.” Polly states, "It is a strategic time to be in the Land, as Judah needs our encouragement and our support. If we are part of a family, we need to be there during difficult days as well as victorious."

Because Israel is suffering from severe economic conditions at this time, there are numerous and pressing needs in the Land. Many people are without work, and a huge number of families are below the poverty line. Because of these conditions, we have an opportunity to demonstrate the love of Yeshua in some very practical ways.

One of these opportunities for service is a School for Underprivileged Children in the Galilee area. The students range in age from 6-16. Many come from impoverished homes that literally have no food in the refrigerator. Some have parents who are on drugs and do not care for their children. It gets cold in the Galilee in the winter, and scores of small children are coming to school with only a little shirt for a top—no coat and no shoes.

The school is now attempting to provide the children with two hot meals per day to help sustain them and to keep them at school longer so they will not have to go home to such dismal circumstances. Polly tells us she has not seen such need in Israel since the late 1940's, when masses of immigrants were coming into the country and many were living in tent cities. We can be a ray of light and hope in the lives of these children.

Our plan is to take them little bags containing toiletries, school supplies, small toys, socks and other items. We will be taking good, clean, used clothing as our luggage requirements allow. We would also like to bless the teachers with some small gifts. We desire to take finances with us to Israel so we can purchase additional items that they might need, and thus put some much-needed money into the economy.

Yeshua demonstrated His love and the Father's love for the little children. Will you help us express His love to them?

Another door of service will be to the Young Soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces, the IDF. They are so young, yet give so much of themselves as they defend the country that Yahveh has given to all of Israel. They often give their lives for your Land and mine. Their job is difficult and often thankless. Can we not sow something into their lives?

We want to express our love and appreciation and give them encouragement. There are numerous items they truly need that we will be able to purchase in Israel.

There are many Elderly Israelis who suffer greatly in poverty. They often do not have enough food to eat. They have little or no heat in their tiny apartments. They feel lost and forgotten. Often they feel as if they have nowhere to go for help.

Israel's economy is stretched to its limit, so many of these people fall through the cracks of the system. They can be overlooked, forgotten, and without hope. But Yahveh, our Father, said He would never forget even one of these.

We are His instruments, His vessels, to provide help and love to these whom the world has forgotten—to stir their hearts with renewed hope and the joy of knowing someone cares.

We are believing for Divine Appointments and Special Connections with those precious people whom the Father desires to touch.

All distribution of finances and gifts will be given with prayer, through His divine leading, and with His wisdom and guidance.

Will you help us bless the Israeli people?

As Messianic Israel, let us together demonstrate our love and obedience to Yahveh Elohim and His Torah by giving of our abundance, or even out of our own need, to bless Judah.

"And Elohim is able to make all grace abound to you, that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; as it is written, 'He scattered abroad, He gave to the poor, His righteousness abides forever.' " (2 Cor. 9:8-9).

We urge you to pray about joining us on this tour, for we would certainly love to have you. However, if this is not the Father's timing for you, then please send us as your shaliachim, your messengers/ambassadors, to take your gifts in the name of Yeshua.

May the Father richly bless each and every one of you as you listen to His heart-cry for the poor and needy, the orphans and the widows.

Upon our return we will give you a full report of how your gifts blessed the people of Israel.

Todah rabah, thank-you, very much.

In Yeshua,
Shoshana Swedlund
