Dear Batya:
I just finished Mama's Torah. It's after midnight (I've been up since 4 this morning). I couldn't put it down (much the same way as when reading Who is Israel?). The tears are flowing freely.
I just had to tell you that this book is remarkable. I am so honored and blessed to know you and to have read this book and to have been born a woman in a day when this book is available.
Just this week I found out about a former friend going to my husband at work and giving him literature about the Jezebel spirit and how to cast out demons...[and claiming] that I was a Jezebel.
The fight on women and Ephraimites is intense. The oppression is so hard to deal with.... Which is why I am so grateful to you.
My life has been more affected by your writing than anyone else's, other than the Bible. I know you will be humble and you'll just shrug all this off, but I wanted you to know that I am endeared to you because of your sacrifice to write and share your version of Mama's Torah. I hope I can fully digest it all and be able to use it and teach it to others.
I feel like my life has been touched by greatness and I will not be the same from this moment on. I didn't want another second to go by without telling you that. I recognize the gift God has given you and I appreciate you. I only wish my own mother had been able to give to me what you have.
All my love,
Julianne
PS - My husband's words about your book are, "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's the best book" he's ever read about it.
