Resolving Israel's Fears Print E-mail

Dear Mr. President:

It is haunting for Americans to think that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s assertion on Friday could at some future date be true. Sharon asserted that as the United States builds international support for its war on terrorism, it was prepared to sell out Israel the way Britain and France betrayed Czechoslovakia before World War II.

Unfortunately, Sharon used a poor choice of words. But, the truth is that Israel fears that, the end of the Peace Process, in the hearts and minds of their Islamic neighbors, is the extinction of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

Fortunately, you have the ability to quickly resolve this issue by conclusively settling whether or not there is any substance to Israel’s fears!

Ask Chairman Arafat, and the members of the Arab League to present a Peace Plan to end the Arab/Israeli conflict. This plan, when accepted by Israel would not only end the conflict but would insure that Israel was recognized and accepted by all Islamic nations as an equal sovereign State. Acceptance means, that once this plan is implemented there will be no more sanctions or economic restrictions against Israel, and Israeli citizens would be free to trade with and visit every Islamic nation.

Mr. President, Israel’s problem is they do not believe that the nations of Islam are willing to accept the State of Israel as an equal nation. Nor, will they recognize Jewish sovereignty over any portion of the land that the Holy One of Israel promised to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For example the so-called peace treaty between Israel and Egypt is really no peace at all, yet it is the type of peace that Israel is called upon by the world to accept.

Knowing your personal commitment to the God that promised the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob a land of their own, I am grateful that you are at our Nation’s helm at this critical time in history. It is my prayer that you take full advantage of the power and the opportunities that God has given you to serve Him. And, that you fulfill in full measure all the expectations that He has for you, and for our Nation.

Mr. President you are in our prayers.

Shalom in our generation,
