No Palestinian State in the Foreseeable Future! Print E-mail

President Bush's in his speech on Monday, June 24, 2002, unveiled a Seven Point Plan which insures that there will not be a sovereign Palestinian state in the foreseeable future. Thus the possibilities of an undivided Israel are brighter. This may, or may not be, the goal President Bush envisions, but, the mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps "(Proverbs 16:19).

It appears that the Lord has direct President George Bush to establish a set of seven conditions that the Palestinian's must comply with for the United States of America to support the creation of a provisional Palestinian state. The following quotes are from his speech:

  1. The Palestinian people must elect new leaders, leaders not compromised by terror...and to build a practicing democracy, based on tolerance and liberty.
  2. Reform must be more than cosmetic change, or veiled attempt to preserve the status quo. True reform will require entirely new political and economic institutions, based on democracy, market economics and action against terrorism.
  3. A Palestinian state will require a vibrant economy, where honest enterprise is encouraged by honest government.
  4. A Palestinian state will require a system of reliable justice to punish those who prey on the innocent.
  5. The United States will not support the establishment of a Palestinian state until its leaders engage in a sustained fight against the terrorists and dismantle their infrastructure. This will require an externally supervised effort to rebuild and reform the Palestinian security services. The security system must have clear lines of authority and accountability and a unified chain of command.
  6. Every nation actually committed to peace will stop the flow of money, equipment and recruits to terrorist groups seeking the destruction of Israel -- including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah. Every nation actually committed to peace must block the shipment of Iranian supplies to these groups, and oppose regimes that promote terror, like Iraq. And Syria must choose the right side in the war on terror by closing terrorist camps and expelling terrorist organizations.
  7. Arab states will be expected to build closer ties of diplomacy and commerce with Israel, leading to full normalization of relations between Israel and the entire Arab world.

There is not an Arab country in the world today that comes even close to meeting these seven standards that President Bush has set as requirements for the creation of a provisional Palestinian state. The state he envisions would be the first democracy in the Arab world. But it is not going to happen, God is not going to allow His heartland to be divided. And as long as President Bush keeps his word and requires that his seven point plan be met it will not happen.

It will be the task of all who follow the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to insure that President Bush understands that we "have read his lips," and we expect him to keep his word that.

The United States of America will not support the creation of a provisional Palestinian state until the conditions he has established have been fully met.
