Are we in Messianic Israel ignoring the warning signs of a holocaust, that in the natural, and if the world had its way, could very well include all Israelites--both Jews and non Jews, Judah and Ephraim, visible Israel and invisible Israel, alike? Really, could another holocaust take place in our day? Brethren it is taking place! When Hitler murder the first Jew in Europe, he set in motion a Holocaust that would kill six million Jews. Radical Islam has been murdering Jews in the Mid East for years, and they will continue to murder them until they are stopped. We know Hitler's total. How high will we allow Radical Islam's total to mount? Who will stop them? Remember, evil will continue to triumph as long as good men do nothing! Unfortunately, we can liken non Jewish Israel (many of whom are undoubtedly in the Church) to the boater traveling up the Niagara river, as it meanders its way from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. The journey is pleasant, and rather enchanting. Yet, at the same time it is very deceptive. Because there is little to hint that Niagara Falls lies ahead. In fact you are within a few hundred yards of the falls before the tranquil current becomes agitated and warns of trouble ahead. Fortunately, the fall's cascading waters give a more advanced notification of danger by providing a forewarning roar and a signal cloud of mist, as they plummet several hundred feet down and crash on the rocks below. Hopefully, the unsuspecting boater will take notice of these warning signs. Investigated them, and take appropriate action to protect himself, which in this case means getting his boat out of the water and circumnavigating the falls via land. For, if the boater ignores these danger signals and proceeds merrily on his way, with the attitude that the waters around him are calm, so he has nothing to worry about, he is headed for certain disaster. Most people traveling along the river of life seem to have a "proceed merrily along the way" mind set. They have the attitude of, "The waters around us are calm, so we have nothing to worry about." These people are "nows." They are living for the moment. And, to do this they must ignore the future and disregard the past. Yesterday and tomorrow are not in their vocabulary. Today is their only concern. And, unfortunately, many Christians, Jews, and even Messianic Believers, can be numbered in the ranks of the "nows." Yet tomorrow will become today and bring challenges and problems, which can easily be disasters if we have not learned the lessons of yesterday and are prepared for them as history repeats itself as is its custom to do. What can we do to be prepared? Yahveh tells us that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). So preservation would come from gaining truthful knowledge (John 8:32). In`other words we need to know the truth about what is happening to the people of Israel in the world today. And one way to gain truthful knowledge is to take advantage of the information presented in these Editorials. Two key Editorials are: Take heart, and finish the work, Angus Wootten |
