Is a Smaller Jewish State the Answer? Print E-mail

"We have patrolled the earth and behold today, all the earth is rumbling with wars and rumors of war."

It is my understanding that when the December 29, 2003 issue of The Jerusalem Report magazine was received in the Throne Room, the Almighty cancelled His subscription to the magazine.

Unfortunately, the present Jewish State has made the decision to give up the lands of Israel’s ancestral kingdoms of Judea and Samaria, and half of the city of Jerusalem, to people who serve another God. They do this with the hope that they can maintain, for the time being at least, a state that is predominately Jewish on the plains of the ancient Philistines.

A lot of people are not happy with this decision.

SOS Israel, an umbrella group of Jewish settlers now living in Judea and Samaria has said that in fulfillment of their biblical mandate they will declare a new Jewish state independent of Israel. They believe in light of the 2005 uprooting of more than 8,000 Jews from the Gaza Strip, the time has clearly come for the Jews of Judea and Samaria to prepare to secede from Israel and establish their own autonomous state. They have already launched a contest to choose a flag and national anthem for the new state.

Anther group of concerned Jews held a preparatory conference concerning the Sovereignty of the Jewish Nation over the Jewish State, in Jerusalem, on November 28, 2007. Their objective is to form a New Jewish Congress that will eventually gain sovereignty of the Jewish Nation over the secular state.

The Conference Topics of Discussion were:

  • The Legal and Judicial State of The Jews in Yehudah, Shomron, Azza, the Jordan Valley, the Golan and Yerushalaiym
  • The Land of Israel, Yerushalaiym, The Temple-Mount and The Holy Temple: Ways to Strengthen their Legal Status - National and International
  • A Constitution
  • Security, Economy and Social Policies in The State of The Jewish Nation
  • Awards to Distinguished Bodies and Persons for Special Contributions to The Cause
  • Organizing The First New Jewish Congress

The initiators of this conference were The Sanhedrin, Jewish Leadership, Headquarters For Eretz Israel, Mattot Arim, Tzibur B'nei Israel, The Temple Institute. Additional Participants: Matteh Tsafon, The Headquarters To Save The People and The Land, Women in Green, Forum Nahallal.

What these groups are saying is, the Jewish Nation and the government of the Secular Jewish State are different entities. And just as the government of the present Secular Jewish State does not represent the Jewish Nation, it also does not represent Ephraim, the other house of Israel, and therefore it does not represent the Nation of Israel. Maybe it is time that Ephraim considers how he can be represented in a government which has sovereignty over the land of Israel.

To accomplish this representation Ephraim needs to work towards the restoration of the nation of Israel. This goal would be accomplished by uniting the House of Judah and his companions and the House of Joseph, and his companions, into one sovereign nation in which each tribe has an equal inheritance in Eretz-Israel.

Will the efforts of SOS Israel, or the New Jewish Congress, or of the Ephraimites, to be represented in the government of Israel be successful?

It is a matter of numbers. Physical dominion was, is, and always will be a matter of numbers. If the settlers can muster the numbers, they could be successful in launching a new state. If those attempting to form a New Jewish Congress can muster the numbers, they can assume sovereignty of the present nation. The success of Ephraim in opening the doors of acceptance in Eretz-Israel and with Judah, will be in direct proportion of the numbers of lost sheep who are transformed into found sheep.

The needed numbers of lost sheep are scattered throughout the world, and for the most part they are lost to a physical affinity with the people of Israel and the land of Eretz-Israel. Rather their goal is a kingdom in heaven. This perspective of the lost sheep is unfortunately encouraged by the present Jewish state denying them any portion in Eretz-Israel. The first step is to change their perspective by having them realize that they are not second class citizens, and that they have an equal part in the Commonwealth of Israel.

Our challenge in the MIA is to turn lost sheep into found sheep. Again, increased numbers are a key to opening the door to meaningful negotiations with our brother Judah, and to our return to Eretz-Israel.

If the MIA is going to successfully meet this challenge of increasing our numbers, it is going to take a 100 percent effort. Everyone needs to participate. Like most ministries, the MIA has 5% of the people carry 100% of the load. That has brought us this far, but if we are to fulfill our destiny, the 95% who have been primarily spectators must get out of the stands, become a player, and join the 5% on the playing field who have been carrying the load.

For more insight, for both spectators and players, on ways to increase the numbers of found sheep, please see the following:

The upcoming January issue of The Messianic Israel Alliance Herald will feature an article, "The Challenge of Establishing the Messianic Kingdom." The article describes the challenges and outline how we can meet and overcome them. Especially the key challenge of determining citizenship in the Commonwealth of Israel. If you are not currently receiving the Herald please go to www.messianicisrael.com. Register and you will receive three months of the Herald free.
