Help! Johnny Hit Me Back! Print E-mail

Dear Mr. President:

Tommy hits Johnny, and in retaliation, Johnny hits him back. Tommy then goes to Mom or Dad in tears saying, “Help! Johnny hit me back!”

The help normal parents will give is, “Tommy if you don’t want Johnny hitting you back, don’t hit him!” Then they will oversee negotiations between the kids that will result in settlement of the problem that caused the confrontation

However, when an Arab hits a Jew. and a Jew hits him back, we have a different set of weights and measures. Here are two examples of this double standard:

  1. Today you., supposedly the most powerful man in the world, are meeting with Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and according to the media the purpose of the meeting is for you to soothe and appease the Arab rage over Jews defending themselves. Yet, what Jew have you invited to your ranch to soothe Jewish rage over countless homicide bombers killing innocent civilians?
  2. The United Nations, over the protest of Israel, is sending a fact-finding team to probe the Israeli hunt for terrorist in the Jenin refugee camp. Where are the United Nations fact-finding teams that should be investigating the massacres in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haife? Further, how does the Israeli attack on Jenin differ from the British attack on terrorists in Jenin in 1938, in which innocent civilians were also killed?
  3. Whatever happened to the parents (your Mr. President , and the leadership of the United States, with, or without, the United Nations), requiring the kids (Israel and the Palestinian) to enter into negotiations until they reached a mutually agreeable settlement? Please note: Neither the United States, the United Nations, nor the Arab states would dictate the terms. The terms would be those mutually agreed on by Israel and the Palestinians.

It is the job of the parents to insure that their kids have the opportunity to work out their territorial differences until they reached a mutually acceptable settlement. This requires that the Arabs and anti-Semites around the world not be allowed to use the situation in Israel to advance their agenda of ridding the world of Jews. The question is not, “Do the parents have the power to force the parties to reach a mutually agreeable negotiated settlement?” The question is, “Do they have the desire?”

Hopefully, you and the leadership of the United States will rise to the challenge. If the United States fails and remains silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place—and the United States will lose its prominent role in the world. Who knows whether the United States has not attained this mantle of world leadership for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14}

Mr. President you are in our prayers.

Shalom in our generation.
